I finally figured out a chocolate protein smoothie that I like! I’m not a fan of most protein powders due to the added sweeteners. But this one I love!

If you don’t have all of the ingredients on hand, it’s fine. Improvise. And full disclosure…I usually don’t measure. I just throw things in.

I also have a sweet tooth and usually want chocolate, so this is my way of getting it, guilt free! This recipe makes 2 smoothies because I'm usually making one for my kids to share, as well. And sometimes I drink the whole thing....

Chocolate Smoothie

Makes approx. two 16 ounce smoothies

  • 1 cup milk - (raw whole milk or nut milk)

  • 1 cup water

  • 1-2 large frozen bananas

  • 1 tablespoon nut butter

  • 1 teaspoon mushroom blend (optional)

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds

  • 1 tablespoon raw honey

  • 1 tablespoon raw cacao

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add everything in a high powered blender and enjoy!

NOTES:

  • If you don't have a frozen banana, just use a regular one and add ice.

  • If using peanut butter, make sure it’s only peanuts and salt. Other kinds have excess sugar and oils that negate the health benefits.

  • If you want it colder, add more ice.

  • If you want it sweeter, add a tablespoon of raw honey. (do not give honey to a child under 1 year old.) You could also use a date or pure maple syrup for sweetener, instead of honey.
